A Stingin’ Cover

Christian McBride is a celebrated jazz bassist that has played a supporting role to everyone from Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Diana Krall and many more. He’s also no stranger to the pop world having performed and recorded with a slew of legendary artists including the late James Brown, The Roots, Bruce Hornsby, Queen Latifah and most notably fellow bassist Sting, who turns a sparkling 60 today! This November Christian is stepping forward and releasing an album titled Conversations with Christian which takes the duet concept to a whole new level. Not only is the bassist who is big on personality as well as talent teamed with a famed artist in a musical duet setting but he has also included the conversation of the two talking about the piece and riffing from there. One of the record’s highlights is Christian’s performance with Sting covering his “Consider Me Gone” and below is a sneak peek at the swingin’ session as the two get their Sting on. Happy Birthday, Sting! The Sting-Meister … Turnin’ 60 … Stingatola … Stingalingaling ding dong …
