We’re so sad to hear of the passing of Amy Winehouse. At just 27, she was talented well beyond her years and the loss is tremendous – she had so much more to say. A few years back, we spoke to one of her producers Salaam Remi for the Motown 50th Celebration podcast and he shared how her song “Tears Dry On Their Own” was influenced by the Motown super hit “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” The interview never made it to the finished series but you get the chance to check it out here. (Click PLAY below to listen to podcast.) It’s fascinating to hear how the song evolved into the surprise favorite (ourselves included) from her famous Back to Black album but more importantly, it speaks to the beauty of Amy Winehouse, the artist. We bid her farewell and may her soul rest in peace.
